NARCON 2008 Report

NARCON 2008 was held up in Rochester MN on 14-16 March, in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of model rocketry.

Special guests included both Vern and Gleda Estes, the founders of Estes, Rocket, industries.  Vern and Gleda are both in their late '70s and gave a wonderful presentation on how Estes Industries got started, and shared some of their successes and hardships.

Also in attendence were the entire board of NAR Trustees and vendors such as Fliskits (Jim and Kathy), Semroc (Carl, Sheryl, and Bruce), Balsa Machining Service (BMS; Bill), Aerotech (Gary), Red River Rocketry (John), and Sirius Rocketry.

Many of the vendors announced and displayed some entirely new, awesome, rockets!!!  Some of the favorites were the Thunderbird from Fliskits, the 50th Anniversary Golden Scout kit from Semroc (all individuals purchasing this model are eligible for a free certificate hand-signed by both Vern and Gleda Estes, upon launching, and the Green Mojave RMS reload 29mm reload by Aerotech.
